At Dentas Bellerive Denture Clinic we are proud to bring you the latest in dental prosthesis technology such as intra-oral scanning, the Ivoclar PM-7 and 3-shape systems to ensure more accurate and less invasive scanning.
Intra-Oral Scanning using 3-shape
As the name implies, an intra-oral scanner is a handheld small device with a camera in it that hooks up to computer software that is inserted into the mouth and can quickly and accurately take a digital 3D impression of the mouth. The scanner provides a detailed look of the hard and soft tissues of the oral cavity making it easier to create well-fitting, comfortable and natural looking dentures. It is quick, less invasive and negates the need for long, uncomfortable stints in the chair waiting for moulds or traditional impression techniques to work.
Please note that this scanner may not always be a viable option for all patients due to underlying issues.
Ivoclar PM-7 Milling Machine
The Ivoclar PM-7 is a machine that we use to create your dentures. We input the data from your intra oral scan, and then, using a touchscreen and various materials in the mill we can create dentures or partial dentures that offer a superior fit as they are customised to the exact needs of each patient.
